This flexible payment solution is possible thanks to the collaboration between Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) and financial services application, Tabby.

Another good news is that this interest-free payment plan will be implemented in January 2024, a Tabby spokesperson confirmed on Saturday.

Here’s a breakdown of how it will benefit the public.

How does it work?

Tabby It is popular among buyers. The same concept of BNPL (buy now, pay later) services and benefits will also apply when paying the taxi fare.

Customers need to download the app to enjoy the “4-month split payment” plan. Only the first payment (25 percent or 1/4) must be paid in advance and the rest will be collected in the next three months.

Tabby It will allow you to pay in four installments without interest or commissions.

Which Dubai taxi company does Tabby accept?

For now, the agreement, the first in the UAE transport sector for postpaid services, is only between DTCs and Tabby.

This means that only taxis under DTC will accept tiered payments. However, DTC, founded in 1995, is the largest taxi operator in Dubai and currently holds about 44 percent of the market share. It has a fleet of about 7,000 taxis.

How does division into four work?

As mentioned, only the first payment will be charged; This is the same scheme when buyers buy or collect other products. The remaining three payments will be collected each month.

DTCsIt is not only known for regular taxi services. It has other mobility solutions including VIP limousine services, bus services and last mile delivery services.
