Each family member over 18 years of age has the right to carry an amount not exceeding Dh60,000 or its equivalent in foreign currency without disclosing it to customs officials.
The application, Afsehas been developed by Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP).
Residents and nationals must submit data through six steps and also declare the amount or value of cash and valuables. Since this information can be edited, people have the option to update the value later in case it increases or decreases when entering or leaving the country.
Upon submitting all data, residents will receive a QR code via SMS and email. Upon arrival at the airport or border, they can simply show the email to customs officials.
Furthermore, this will help visitors and residents to exchange money without any hassle as they will only have to show the approval declaration form that they received from the PIC.
