Residents can carry out their procedures completely virtually with this government service.

“An applicant does not need to come to the Amer center for any pending transactions after a visa officer has discovered that some documents are missing or unclear. The customer can now use the Amer Virtual Service and speak to a GRDFA official in real time to resolve the issue.”

to GDRFA official explained.

Remote service is not performed by a chatbot that only imitates human conversation, but by a real person to allow customers to see and speak directly to an officer to resolve the issue.

Saving time and effort

“The process is simple: the applicant can access the virtual service remotely and the official will review any missing or unclear documents. The requester will then attach the new document in the chat box to complete the transaction. There is definitely no need for the applicant to do this personally.”

added the GDRFA officialunderlining:

“The Amer Virtual Service will reduce transaction time and simplify the process for customers.”

The virtual service can be used to process the issuance and renewal of all types of visas, including residence, student and visit visas, as well as gold and green visas. Video conferencing is used to resolve the backlog for clients who have already submitted an initial application but processing was delayed because a document is missing or vague.

Expansion plan

GDRFA-Dubai previously noted that 250,000 transactions were processed during the first two months when the initial phase of the video calling service was introduced in the first quarter of 2023.

Currently, the Amer Virtual Service is available Monday to Friday from 7am to 7pm, but there are plans to make it 24/7.

In addition to the Amer Virtual Service, customers can also contact the Amer call center at toll-free number 8005111, which is available 24 hours a day.
