Adnoc allows the hiring of 9,000 Emiratis in the private sector and plans 5,000 more by 2027 – News

Companies that hire more Emiratis are more likely to have a higher ICV score, meaning they will be given preference at Adnoc when a tender is awarded.

More than 9,000 Emiratis have been hired by private sector companies that have been working with ADNOC through its in-country value (ICV) program since 2018. The company aims to create an additional 5,000 jobs by 2027, it said a senior official.

Zainab Al Blooki, country value development manager at ADNOC Group, underlined that the energy provider is committed to enabling local talent and the private sector across its supply chain.

“We have been working very closely with our partners across the supply chain to ensure the creation of sustainable and long-lasting jobs for Emiratis in the private sector and ensure the sustainability and continuity of our operations,” said Al Blooki. Khaleej Times on the sidelines of the ‘Industrial Careers Expo’ at the Abu Dhabi Energy Centre.

“This career expo focuses on enabling local talents in the private sector. We have over 73 companies here, many of which are part of the ADNOC supply chain,” he said.

Elaborating on ADNOC’s ICV programme, Al Blooki noted that the main objective is to boost the local economy through a variety of factors, including Emiratisation in the private sector.

“We look at the number of Emiratis you hire, as well as how much you spend on salaries, training, development, etc. We want to ensure that you not only hire Emiratis, but also ensure their development and empower them to move up the career ladder in your organisation. This eventually helps the economy by ensuring the sustainability and continuity of our operations.”

Al Blooki highlighted that companies that hire more Emiratis are more likely to have a higher ICV score, meaning that at ADNOC they will be given preference when a tender is awarded.

“The goal is to reward companies that are contributing the most to our local economy.”

Al Blooki highlighted that more than 9,000 Emiratis have been hired since the launch of the ICV program in 2018.
