EDGE awards AED 4.1 billion contract to supply ammunition to the Ministry of Defense

EDGE, one of the world’s leading defense and advanced technology groups, today announced an AED 4.1 billion contract for the supply of aircraft ammunition, at the Dubai Airshow (DAS) 2023.
EDGE entity LAHAB DEFENSE SYSTEMS, The UAE’s sole ammunition manufacturer was awarded the contract which includes the production and delivery of the MK 81, MK 82, MK 83 and MK 84 general purpose aircraft ammunition.
Hamad Al Marar, chairman of the missile weapons group within EDGEsaying:
“This contract strengthens the MoD’s confidence in LAHAB DEFENSE SYSTEMS and reflects our ambitions to develop capabilities that meet long-term future needs. “We look forward to continuing to provide support and strengthening our commitment to the Ministry of Defence.”
The ammunition will be produced at LAHAB DEFENSE SYSTEMS facilities, directly contributing to the UAE government’s “Make it in the Emirates” initiative and “Operation 300 Billion”, a national industrial strategy aimed at increasing the contribution to Manufacturing sector GDP to AED 300 billion over the next nine years.
