UAE announces long weekend for federal government employees to celebrate National Day

The United Arab Emirates on Thursday announced a long weekend for federal government employees to celebrate National Day. The sector holiday will be from Saturday, December 2 to Monday, December 4, 2023.

Friday, December 1, has also been announced as a ‘remote work day’ for those who work in ministries and federal entities. However, this excludes those whose jobs require physical presence in the office.

Previously, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (Mohre) had declared December 2 and 3 as paid holidays for private sector workers.

Since the dates fall during the weekend from Saturday to Sunday, the holiday will not result in an extended break.
