A China-based technology company, which designs and develops zero-emission commercial vehicles, will bring its customized hydrogen-powered city buses to Abu Dhabi.

Wisdom Motor has signed a cooperation agreement with the Integrated Transport Center (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) in Abu Dhabi to provide green mobility solutions to the emirate through its distributor Emirates Global Motor Electric (EGME), part from Al Grupo Fahim.

The 12-meter hydrogen fuel cell city bus has a driving range of 500 km and reduces 105 kg of carbon emissions per 100 km of travel.

The cooperation agreement coincides with ITC’s announcement this week of the Green Bus Programme, a visionary initiative that aligns with Abu Dhabi’s commitment to sustainability. Powered by green public transport, the goal is to transform Abu Dhabi Island into a green zone by 2030. Abu Dhabi authorities seek to create a sustainable future through strategic partnerships and global collaborations.

Cliff Zhang, chairman of Wisdom Motor’s board of directors and president of Templewater, the company’s investor, called the partnership an “important milestone.”

Founded in Fujian, China, the zero-emission commercial vehicle solutions provider is headquartered in Hong Kong. Wisdom Motor offers cutting-edge, customizable commercial vehicles through a combination of technology, customization and precision manufacturing at its production center in Fujian.

At its Hong Kong headquarters, the company is the first supplier of hydrogen-powered double-decker buses, as well as the first three-axle double-decker bus.
