UAE Cabinet approves formation of board of directors of Emirates pharmaceutical establishment

The UAE Cabinet meeting approved a decision on the formation of the board of directors of the Emirates Drug Establishment, chaired by Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade.
The Board of Directors includes Dr. Maha Taysir Barakat, Deputy Minister of Medical Affairs and Life Sciences at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as vice-chairman; Dr. Essa Abdulfattah Kazim, Governor of Dubai International Financial Centre; Badr Al-Olama, Acting Director General of the Abu Dhabi Investment Office; Dr Amer Ahmad Sharif, CEO of Dubai Academic Health Corporation; Dr. Farhan Malik, PureHealth Group CEO; Professor Christopher Evans, research scientist and entrepreneur; in addition to a representative of Youth designated by the General Secretariat of the Cabinet.
Likewise, the Cabinet approved assigning Dr. Fatima Alkaabi perform the functions of general director of the establishment.
He Emirates Drug Establishment aims to strengthen the country’s position as a global hub for the pharmaceutical and medical industries, promoting research and development in this sector and providing an enabling environment for pharmaceutical investments.
In addition, the Establishment will contribute to improving the production, development and export of high-quality medical and pharmaceutical products, as well as ensuring the availability, quality, efficacy and safety of these products.
