Residents of the United Arab Emirates are experiencing a cloudy day as rain falls across several emirates. Videos circulating on social media show heavy rain in Sharjah and Dubai.
In a video taken from a car, a flock of birds can be seen making themselves comfortable on a stretch of grass on the side of a road in Sharjah. Many different species of birds migrate to the UAE during this season, when rainfall is heaviest and temperatures drop.
Other videos show vehicles stopped or driving on slippery roads under gray, cloudy skies.

Earlier today, the UAE’s National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued orange and yellow alerts for rain in some parts of the country. Residents have been advised to exercise caution and pay attention to the instructions of the authorities while the alert is in force, that is, until 5:30 p.m. today.
