UAE: Sheikh Mohammed meets Egypt’s Prime Minister during World Government Summit in Dubai

Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, met with the Prime Minister of Egypt, Dr. Mostafa Madbouli, as part of the ongoing World Government Summit 2024 , which opened in Dubai on Monday under the theme “Shaping the Governments of the Future.”
The meeting was held in the presence of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council; and Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the United Arab Emirates.
The meeting reviewed the historical ties between the UAE and Egypt, focusing on the well-being of the people of both countries and ways to promote their aspirations on the regional and international stage.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid welcomed Dr. Madbouly and his accompanying delegation, reaffirming the important and long-standing relations between the United Arab Emirates and Egypt while highlighting the commitment of the two countries to continue advancing and strengthening bilateral relations. The Vice President also expressed his gratitude for Egypt’s participation in the World Government Summit and wished its leaders and people greater progress and prosperity.
Dr. Madbouly emphasized the depth of historical ties between the two countries and congratulated the UAE and its leadership for the exemplary organization of the World Government Summit, praising the remarkable response it had elicited globally and its goals of improving the functioning of government and promoting development and prosperity. and future strategies.
The World Government Summit 2024 brings together more than 4,000 experts from 140 governments, 85 international organizations and 700 global corporations to explore key future global trends during more than 110 plenaries, panel discussions and interactive sessions, with 200 international speakers sharing their insights , in addition to 23 ministerial meetings and executive sessions that will be attended by more than 300 ministers.

Additionally, Sheikh Mohammed met with Mathias Cormann, Secretary-General of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), on the first day of the WGS.
The meeting was held in the presence of Sheikh Hamdan and Sheikh Maktoum.
The meeting discussed global economic issues, the strong relations between the UAE and the OECD and the notable contributions made by the OECD in promoting development initiatives on the international stage.
Sheikh Mohammed welcomed Cormann to the Summit, where he participated on Monday in a plenary session titled “Embracing the Winds of Economic Change: A Global Perspective.”
The Vice President praised the role of the OECD in promoting economic progress, facilitating international trade, encouraging job creation and promoting economic policies that promote inclusive and sustainable development for all countries and their people.
Cormann highlighted the fruitful cooperation between the UAE and the OECD in several key development sectors, underlining the Organization’s dedication to further strengthening this relationship, given the UAE’s status as a leading economic center that adheres to the highest standards of corporate governance.
The OECD Secretary-General also praised the World Government Summit for its role in fostering strong partnerships between governments around the world, aimed at aligning global efforts to anticipate future opportunities and challenges, improve social prosperity and strengthen the developing knowledge and skills within government leadership around the world. .
