‘Life will change’: Indian visitor celebrating anniversary in Dubai wins $1 million – News

The names of Rupa Harish Dhawan and Nana Kakihara, who bought tickets for the first time, were added to the growing list of millionaires when it was announced at the latest Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire and Finest Surprise draw held at Dubai International Airport. Dubai on Wednesday.

Rupa Harish Dhawan, a 49-year-old Indian, won $1 million with ticket number 2,869, which she bought on January 28 on her way back to Mumbai from Dubai. Rupa, who buys a ticket for the first time, is a housewife and mother of three children.

She and her husband visited Dubai to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary and on the way back to Mumbai, her husband convinced her to buy a ticket for the Dubai Duty Free promotion at the airport.

“It was something very important for me, I was never lucky or won that way. I can’t believe that with my first ticket to Dubai Duy Free my life is going to change. “I will always be grateful to Dubai Duty Free for this.” she said.

Rupa is the 224th Indian to have won $1 million in the Millennium Millionaire promotion since its launch in 1999, with Indian citizens being the largest ticket buyers.

She is joined as a fellow millionaire by Nana Kakihara, a 30-year-old Japanese woman who lives in Miyazaki. She won her $1 million prize with ticket number 4429, which she purchased on February 13 on her way to Male, Maldives, for her honeymoon. Nana works for a chemical company in Miyazaki.

“Thank you for this amazing opportunity, Dubai Duty Free. “I’m delighted to win so early with my first ticket,” she said.

When asked about his initial plans after his victory, he said: “I want to buy a new car and travel the world with my family.”

Nana is the third Japanese citizen to win $1 million in the Millennium Millionaire promotion.

After the Millennium Millionaire draw, the Best Surprise draw was held for three luxury cars and two motorcycles.

Hameed Abdulla Yousuf, a 78-year-old Bahraini resident of Hamad Town, won a BMW X6 M60i xDrive (Mineral White Metallic) car with ticket number 0083, which he purchased online on February 6. A regular participant in the Dubai Duty Free promotion for 10 years, Hameed is a father of five children.

“This is one of the best calls I have ever received in my life. I’m glad I finally won something from Dubai Duty Free after participating for a long time. Indeed, perseverance paid off. Thank you for this opportunity to win a luxury car.” he said.

Michael Konrad Steinhoefel, a 51-year-old Swiss resident in Basel, won a Mercedes Benz S500 car (Obsidian Black Metallic) with ticket number 1284, which he purchased online on February 6. A regular participant in the Dubai Duty Free promotion for 15 years, Michael works as a risk manager in a bank.

“Thank you for running this promotion for so long, giving people the opportunity to win. I am happy to be part of this now, thank you very much Dubai Duty Free,” she said.

Rashmi R., an Indian living in the United Arab Emirates, won a Mercedes G 63 car (Polar White) with ticket number 2478, which he purchased online on February 11.

Rashmi R. cannot currently be contacted, but she will no doubt be delighted to hear of her victory.

Seamus Louis, a 44-year-old Indian living in Dubai, won an Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory motorcycle (Time Attack – Black Red) with ticket number 0781, which he purchased online on February 5.

A regular participant in the Dubai Duty Free promotion for 6 years, Seamus is a father of three and works as a store manager for a luxury lifestyle brand.

Neena Joseph, a 33-year-old Indian based in Sharjah, won a BMW R 1250 RS motorcycle (white/blue/metallic red) with ticket number 0072, which she bought on February 5 on her way to Kochi.

Neena, a resident of Sharjah for 7 years and a regular participant in the Dubai Duty Free promotion for 2 years, works as a staff nurse at a community medical center in Sharjah. “I am very grateful for this moment. It was a surprise, thank you Dubai Duty Free,” she said.
