Weather in the United Arab Emirates: dense fog covers the country and red alert is issued – News

Dense fog blanketed the country early on Saturday, after the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) forecast lower temperatures and heavy rain for next week.

The NCM has issued a red alert across the country, warning residents of dense fog. The advisory says: “There is a possibility of fog formation with a deterioration in horizontal visibility, which may sometimes decrease further.” The area for which the advisory was issued is highlighted on the map below.

Sheikh Zayed Road had reduced visibility due to dense fog this morning. Message boards urged drivers to “slow down” and “use fog lights.”

Dubai Marina and Jumeirah Lakes Towers were also shrouded in fog, as clouds appeared to descend on the skyscrapers that populate the area.

Abu Dhabi Police have also issued multiple warnings and reduced the speed limit on several roads to urge motorists to drive safer.

The monstrous fog engulfed even Sharjah. A white fog covered the city as residents went out for their morning activities in jackets.

In today’s forecast, the National Meteorological Center has said that the day will be fair to partly cloudy at times, becoming cloudy at night in some coastal and northern areas.

Light to moderate winds will blow. There is a chance of light rain on Sunday morning.

Temperatures are expected to increase today and could reach up to 30ºC in the country. The mercury is expected to rise to 29ºC in Abu Dhabi and 28ºC in Dubai.

However, temperatures could drop to 20ºC in Abu Dhabi and 19ºC in Dubai and 7ºC in mountainous regions.

Humidity levels will range between 35 and 75 percent in Abu Dhabi and between 55 and 90 percent in Dubai.

Conditions at sea will be poor in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of ​​Oman.
