[ad_1]

Electric scooter users were left completely unprepared after being informed that electric scooters are no longer allowed inside the Dubai Metro and Tram starting today, March 1. Many had no choice but to park their electric scooters outside Metro stations, while others decided to return home.

He Roads and Transportation Authority (RTA) he tweeted the decision on Thursday (February 29) evening:

Staff at Dubai Metro stations have been politely informing electric scooter users that they can no longer carry their scooters inside the trains. A public service announcement was played repeatedly on all stations.

Two weeks ago, services at Onpassive tube station were delayed for almost an hour after smoke was detected coming from an electric scooter.

Experts have warned against using substandard electric scooters available from online chargers. Electric scooters run on lithium-ion batteries which can overheat, catch fire and cause an explosion, especially if they are damaged or manufactured defectively.
