dnata obtains IATA CEIV lithium battery accreditation for global stations

DNA, a leading global provider of air and travel services, has received accreditation from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Center of Excellence for Independent Validators (CEIV) for the safe and compliant handling of lithium batteries.

This achievement underscores the company’s commitment to meeting rigorous safety standards and regulatory requirements in the handling of potentially hazardous materials.

DNA travel with IATA The CEIV lithium battery program began in April 2023. Less than 12 months later, it has become the first ground service provider to certify 11 of its stations worldwide, all of which participated in a comprehensive audit process . The company’s stations in Australia and Pakistan were the first to complete the evaluation phase, followed by Singapore, Belgium, the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates. The IATA certification ceremony for these stations took place at the recent World Cargo Symposium in Hong Kong.

In recent years, dnata has invested significantly in training and process improvement to further improve safety and efficiency in the handling of dangerous goods. In 2021, it became the first global air service provider to adopt IATA Dangerous Goods Autocheck (DG Autocheck) platform for the acceptance of shipments of dangerous goods. In December 2023, dnata also obtained accreditation with IATA Corporate Certification for competency-based training and assessment (CBTA) in Dangerous Goods.
