[ad_1]

DP World has opened the latest in a series of more than 100 freight forwarding offices around the world, marking a significant expansion aimed at helping clients navigate the complexities of global trade.

Amid growing disruptions to global trade caused by climate change, geopolitics and macroeconomic challenges, DP World is strengthening its commitment to customers through strategic expansion. The global logistics giant, which already employs 1,000 people, aims to grow significantly over the next 12 months, contributing to its role in moving more than 10 per cent of global trade annually. Responding to disturbances, DP World focuses on building resilience in supply chains by offering an expanded freight transportation initiative. Moving away from the traditional asset-light model, the company emphasizes control and resilience, leveraging its comprehensive suite of proprietary digital technology and services tools. The Miami office marks the latest addition to DP World extensive global network, strengthening its position in the logistics and supply chain industry.

Beat Simon, Group Commercial Director, Logistics at DP World, saying,

“Our expansion into freight transportation complements our end-to-end supply chain solutions and capabilities. Our Appropriate Assets approach is a game-changer for the freight industry, putting customers in the driver’s seat with more visibility and control and giving them confidence to trade in today’s global market.

“As we continue to grow our freight footprint, we are building a network that will cover more than 90 percent of global trade. “We are focused on densifying our network while building a strong, resilient, best-in-class global capability.”

The growing service currently encompasses order and origin management, port handling and sea and air cargo management, and destination services such as customs, drayage, logistics, last mile delivery, deconsolidation and bonded warehousing services. Besides, DP World offers a variety of value-added services including integrated trade financing, commodity-specific services, containerized automobiles, transshipment and advanced hubs, and more.

All of this is accessed through a single digital window supported by an integrated Global Service Center that centralizes back-end processes, staffed by more than 500 IT specialists. The advanced digital system means customers can track their goods in real time and easily manage their freight journey.

Marco Nazzari, Vice President of Commercial Freight Transportation at DP Worldsaying,

“Our freight forwarding service uses our proprietary digital technology solutions to simplify global trade for our customers and give them more control. However, it’s not just our digital solutions that deliver next-generation freight service: our people are critical to our customers’ success. We employ over 1000 team members and will continue to grow.

“Leveraging an asset-appropriate approach, DP World uses its digital tools, along with the local expertise and knowledge of its team, to make freight transportation easier and more resilient end-to-end.”
