Presidents of the UAE and Egypt meet in Cairo and discuss bilateral relations and regional developments

During their meeting, Sheikh Mohamed and Al Sisi reviewed a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest, including the latest developments in the Middle East.

Most important are the ongoing efforts to address the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and alleviate the suffering of its people, ensuring the urgent, safe and unimpeded delivery of aid and intensifying efforts to achieve a lasting ceasefire.

Both sides emphasized the need for decisive international action to support the political process and promote a comprehensive, just and lasting peace based on the two-State solution, as a way to safeguard regional security and stability.

Sheikh Mohamed and Al Sisi reaffirmed the depth of relations between the United Arab Emirates and Egypt, which are characterized by strong ties and mutual respect, along with a shared interest in further enhancing these relations to meet the mutual aspirations of both countries and their towns.

The two leaders also expressed their desire to maintain continuous consultations and coordination between the UAE and Egypt on all matters that serve their common interests and contribute to enhancing stability, security and peace, which are considered essential to achieving the development and prosperity throughout the region.

President Al Sisi hosted an Iftar in honor of the visit of Sheikh Mohamed and his accompanying UAE delegation.

The meeting and Iftar were attended by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor for Special Affairs of the Presidential Court; Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary General of the Supreme National Security Council; Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology; Mohamed Hassan Al Suwaidi, Minister of Investments; Jassem Mohammed Buatabh Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Finance and member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council; Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa Al Hammadi, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) and Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council; Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Ali Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Office of the President for Strategic Affairs; Faisal Al Bannai, Secretary General of the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC); and Mariam Al Kaabi, ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Arab Republic of Egypt.

On the Egyptian side, attendees included the Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly; The head of Egypt’s General Intelligence Service, Major General Abbas Kamel, and several high-ranking officials.

Sheikh Mohamed was subsequently accompanied to the airport by Al Sisi, who bid farewell to His Highness at the conclusion of his visit to Egypt.
