UAE Weather: Thick fog envelops parts of Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi; Rain alert issued in some areas – News

Residents in parts of Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi woke up to thick fog covering their surroundings as the National Meteorological Center issued red and yellow alerts in areas of the United Arab Emirates.
Moving on to X, the authority highlighted the regions most likely to be affected.

Motorists traveling on the Dubai highway experienced fog in areas such as Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Road, Al Minhad, Jebel Ali, Al Faqa and Expo.

Residents have been warned that visibility will be reduced until 9am today.
Abu Dhabi Police warned motorists to use caution due to reduced visibility during fog. They are urged to follow the changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards.
The authority also reduced the speed limit to 80 km/h on some roads in the emirate. These are Sweihan Road (Sweihan – Al Faya Bridge), Al Taff Road (Sweihan – Al Ajban), Mohammed Bin Rashid Road (Kizad – Seih Shuaib), Maktoum Bin Rashid Road (Al Smeeh – Seih Shuaib).
The MNC also issued a yellow alert for light to moderate rains in southern areas of the country.

Abu Dhabi Police also asked drivers to be careful due to the rainy weather conditions and to respect variable speed limits displayed on signs and electronic information boards.
In an NCM forecast, the weather today is expected to be partly cloudy in general, with continuity of medium clouds in some areas with a probability of light rain towards the south.
There will be an increase in temperatures. Light to moderate winds are expected to blow, cooling at times. The sea will be light in the Arabian Gulf and light to moderate in the Oman Sea.
Temperatures are expected to drop to 11ºC in the mountainous areas of the country and reach maximums of 35ºC in the internal areas.
