UAE: Winner of ‘latest’ Dh10m Big Ticket draw says Ramadan brought him luck – News

Ramesh Kannan, an Indian expat living in Qatar, won the Dh10 million jackpot prize in the latest 262nd series of Big Ticket live draws in Abu Dhabi. Ramesh, a mechanical technician, has called Qatar home for the past 15 years.

He got lucky with ticket number 056845, purchased online on March 29 during a buy two, get one free promotion. She bought this ticket along with 10 of her friends.

During the live show, presenters Richard and Bouchra were initially unable to reach him. Ramesh was very happy when he finally heard the great news.

“Every month I hoped and prayed that I would win. Last month, I was just one number away from winning the grand prize. It had the same sequence of numbers except for a single digit. Still, I knew that one day I would win.”

Ramesh considers himself blessed to have won in the holy month. “Allah brought me this stroke of luck during the holy month of Ramadan. “I am truly blessed.”

When asked about his reasons for participating in the Big Ticket giveaway, the first-time winner said he plans to build his own house for his family in India.

“I am currently renting in India and would like to build a house for the family. Finally I can build the house of our dreams, where my wife, my sister and my parents can live,” Ramesh stressed.

Big Ticket, the oldest sweepstakes in the region, is temporarily pausing its operations in accordance with new directives from the Gambling Regulatory Authority in the United Arab Emirates.

“Big Ticket is temporarily pausing ticket sales. We hope it is for a short time. Please continue to follow our official social media pages for updates,” Richard noted. “Hopefully we will have positive news soon.”

The sale of tickets for the next draw has been suspended since April 1. In addition, shops at Zayed International Airport and Al Ain Airport have temporarily closed. Certain functions of the official website, such as ticket purchasing, login and account registration, have been disabled until further notice.
