During the first half of the holy month of Ramadan, Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque received 570,113 visitors.
This total included 164,704 people who attended the prayers, 194,978 guests and 210,431 people who participated in the iftar gathering. In the same mosque, 102,419 people performed Isha and Taraweeh prayers.
Meanwhile, the Sheikh Khalifa Grand Mosque in Al Ain and the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Fujairah recorded 77,233 and 50,456 worshippers, respectively.

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center has spread its mobile information stations on its grounds to accommodate the surge of devotees during the last 10 days of Ramadan, to attend to the needs of the devotees, address their questions and guide them to various locations .
In addition, the center has improved its switchboard services by doubling its staff to efficiently handle the increased volume of calls and queries during this period.
The mosque also scheduled Tahajjud night prayer at 12:00 a.m. and visiting hours will end at 11:30 p.m. throughout the week, for the duration of this period.
Approximately 1,500 rugs
In preparation for the last 10 days of the holy month, the center has equipped the mosque’s courtyard with approximately 1,500 rugs. To facilitate the movement of devotees from the parking lots to the prayer rooms, 70 electric vehicles have been deployed, which will give priority to the elderly and people with special needs. The mosque is also equipped with 50 wheelchairs and 3,515 seats to ensure the comfort of worshipers.
Additionally, in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority, ambulances are on standby and a civil defense team will be stationed at the mosque.
Provision of additional parking spaces for easy access during the last 10 days of Ramadan. The center has ensured convenient access to the mosque by providing 8,379 parking spaces for devotees. Specifically, 1,500 places are dedicated to women near the northern prayer halls, while 60 places are reserved for people with disabilities.
This year, in collaboration with the authorities, the center has added 1,800 parking spaces on Grand Mosque Street, in front of the Coexistence Gate, number 7, as well as at other locations, including the Zayed Sports City, the Erth Hotel and near the Oasis of Dignity.
A shuttle bus to the mosque is also available from these locations to support the influx of worshipers attending the Tahajjud night prayers during the last ten days of Ramadan.
Distribution of 960,431 iftar meals as part of the “Our Fasting Guests” project During the holy month of Ramadan, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center has implemented the “Our Fasting Guests” initiative, which pays tribute to the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al. Nahyan distributing iftar meals daily at the mosque and in workers’ towns, in association with Hotel Erth.
During the first half of the holy month, the project successfully distributed 960,431 iftar meals, of which 210,431 were served in the mosque and about 750,000 were delivered in workers’ cities, in collaboration with the Higher Corporation for Specialized Economic Zones (ZonesCorp ) in Abu Dhabi.
The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center has also recruited 580 volunteers to work alongside the centre’s employees, the Emirates Red Crescent, police officers, paramedics and civil defence.
