On the occasion of the “Year of Sustainability” and the celebration of COP28 in the UAE, local entities have launched a feature-rich digital platform to help turn climate intent into meaningful climate action.
As part of its ongoing public-private collaboration to enhance sustainability initiatives, Environment Agency Abu Dhabi (EAD) and du, part of Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), unveiled the ‘environmental engagement platform’ naha’.
“The launch of the naha platform is an evolutionary step in our partnership with du. It is the culmination of our educational awareness initiatives manifested on a unified digital platform,” said Dr. Shaikha Salem Al Dhaheri, Secretary General of EAD.
Naha, which comes from the words “natural habitat”, is designed to use customized digital platforms to promote sustainability, raise environmental awareness and encourage green practices in Abu Dhabi and beyond. Naha will centralize EAD’s key outreach initiatives, which are based on scientific information and knowledge, with the aim of turning climate intentions into meaningful actions in the UAE by participating and participating in the various programs that are part of the platform.

Naha offers a variety of tools and resources, including a calendar and a personalized ‘my naha’ newsfeed; empowering people to adopt environmental lifestyle changes through increased awareness, event participation and community engagement.

The e-platform includes more than eight environmental programs and initiatives such as Sustainable Schools Initiative (SSI), Sustainable Campus Initiative (SCI) and ‘Sahim’ Citizen Science Programme, and other initiatives targeting youth, students and the community.
