UAE AI Office Partners with Emirates Global Aluminum to Accelerate AI Adoption in Industrial Sector

The UAE Office of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications and Emirates Global Aluminum signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote the adoption of artificial intelligence in the industrial sector.
The agreement was signed by Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, and Abdulnasser bin Kalban, CEO of EGA, at the World Government Summit (WGS) 2024 in Dubai.
Al-Olama He stated that the digitalization of various vital sectors through the adoption of artificial intelligence applications is a critical cornerstone in improving the UAE’s competitive position globally and accelerating the pace of digital transformation across all industrial sectors.
He praised Emirates Global Aluminum Company’s proactive efforts to enhance applications of Fourth Industrial Revolution solutions in its operations, including artificial intelligence solutions.

“At EGA we fully recognize the power of artificial intelligence to transform everything we do, from automating industrial processes to improving the employee experience at work. Many of the opportunities ahead of us are shared with others. “Through the Government’s Office of Artificial Intelligence, we hope to achieve our own transformation more quickly and effectively, while inspiring other companies with what is possible.”
According to the agreement, the office of Artificial Intelligence Applications, Digital Economy and Remote Work and EGA will work together to develop research partnerships for artificial intelligence, including its use in the development of new aluminum alloys. In addition, they will also cooperate to enhance the skills of EGA staff in artificial intelligence, jointly promote career opportunities for UAE national students, and work with universities to ensure that their curricula meet the needs of the industry.
EGA began its own Industry 4.0 transformation in 2021 to further improve operational efficiency, with the aim of becoming a digital beacon for the region and the global aluminum industry.
The agreement supports the company’s efforts to implement Fourth Industrial Revolution solutions using artificial intelligence in various fields, including improving the supply chain, improving automated quality testing and strengthening security procedures in its factories.
Solutions of the Fourth Industrial Revolution implemented by EGA include comparing data collected by sensors with image and video analysis, thus increasing dependence on technological applications and allowing more opportunities for data-driven scientific applications to improve data processing capabilities in the industrial sector. EGA has been developing its patented technologies used in aluminum smelting operations locally for over 30 years.
He WGS 2024 The edition presents six main topics and 15 forums. It hosts more than 23 ministerial meetings and round tables, 85 international, regional and intergovernmental organizations and more than 120 interactive sessions and workshops. In addition, 300 prominent personalities participate in the event, including heads of state, ministers, experts, thinkers and decision makers.
