DMI announces comprehensive development plan for its news, television and digital sectors

In line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Councilto further develop the media sector in Dubai and support the growth of the creative and media sectors in the Arab world, Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI) has revealed details of a comprehensive plan to realize its new strategy.

Details of several initiatives that are part of the plan were revealed at a press conference held by DMI at the 21st Arab Media Forum in Dubai. The plan, which will be implemented in the coming months, seeks to improve DMI’s professional, human, technical and infrastructure capabilities.

In his speech at the press conference, Mohammed Al Mulla, CEO of DMI, said that the initiatives align with the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed for the positive transformation of the media sector in the UAE and the region. The new plan gives utmost importance to investing in human resources, empowering young media professionals and enhancing their role in development.

The new initiatives seek to improve the participation of the next generation in shaping the media of the future and give them more influential leadership roles. He highlighted DMI’s commitment to disseminating high-quality content about Dubai globally, while preserving local and Arab values.

The new plan will encompass all media platforms as part of the organization’s commitment to encourage the production of high-quality content and elevate Dubai’s stature as the region’s leading economic and media hub. The strategy also plans to transform DMI into a leader in the production of Arabic content and a pioneer in the deployment of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the media.

The CEO of DMI also announced the launch of the Dubai Media Academy aimed at fostering skills and guiding young people towards fulfilling media careers. The Academy is prepared to open new educational avenues and promote academic and professional training. In addition to preparing graduates for the media industry of tomorrow, the Academy seeks to raise the standards of academic experience and specialized media research in the UAE.

DMI also announced the launch of several other strategic initiatives to revitalize the media landscape in Dubai. The press conference also announced the establishment of Dubai Media Studios for Creative Production, which aims to support emerging talents and content creators and encourage collaboration and job creation in the creative sector.

The company is also launching an events company dedicated to organizing popular music and art programs that will be broadcast regionally, with the goal of enhancing creativity and cultural appreciation in society.

Sarah Al Jarman, general manager of television and radio channels at DMI, highlighted the organization’s plans to incorporate new media personalities into its television channels.
