His Excellency Dr. Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Diplomatic Advisor to the President of the UAE, said the country’s foreign policy is based on three key pillars: stability, prosperity and principles, prioritizing geoeconomic considerations over geopolitical ones.

Speaking in the 21st Arab Media Forum in a session titled ‘The Arab region: future scenarios‘, moderated by Lara Nabhan, host of Al Hadath TV, Dr. Gargash said that the UAE’s foreign policy focuses on improving regional stability. This approach aims to reduce conflicts between nations in the region, prioritizing mutual interests over differences. He underlined the crucial role of regional cooperation and dialogue in addressing common challenges.

His Excellency highlighted the leadership role of Saudi Arabia and Egypt in the Arab world. He also noted that the UAE is working to constantly increase its competitiveness by harnessing the potential of the digital economy, artificial intelligence and renewable and sustainable energy.

Highlighting the importance of economic prosperity, doctor gargash He said that increasing local competitiveness is one of the UAE’s main objectives. The nation is committed to constantly expanding trade partnerships and opening new economic corridors. The agreement reached at the G20 meeting to establish a trade corridor linking India, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Israel and Europe is a significant development for the UAE.

Promoting the nation’s values ​​is another cornerstone of the UAE’s foreign policy, doctor gargash saying. Empowering women and promoting tolerance are fundamental values ​​that the nation wishes to promote, in addition to Islamic and Arab values.

Commenting on the recent attack on Bahraini troops along the Saudi-Yemen border, doctor gargash He said that despite recent developments that hold the promise of a permanent solution to the conflict in Yemen, thanks to Saudi efforts, this incident indicates the presence of a faction within the Houthis that opposes reconciliation.

He also noted that the UAE is focused on finding common ground with Iran as development and confrontation cannot go hand in hand.

He stressed the importance of revitalizing Arab collaboration and reshaping past ideologically driven policies.

Regarding COP28, doctor gargash He stressed that the event is of utmost importance for the United Arab Emirates as it addresses one of the most critical challenges facing humanity. He promised that the UAE would have a significant impact and leave its mark on the event.
