Emirati sisters who rescued five family members from burning car honored by police – News

Two Emirati sisters, Amna and Maitha Muftah Muhammad, rescued five people when they were involved in a car accident on an outer road in Ras Al Khaimah. They sprang into action when they realized that injured Asian family members urgently needed help.

According to the Arabic daily Emarat AlYoum, the sisters bravely pulled the wounded out of their vehicle before they were engulfed in flames. The duo provided first aid until the ambulance and rescue teams reached the accident site.

Taking note of their heroic act in saving multiple lives, the Ras Khaimah Police, under the directives of Major General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al-Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Police, on Wednesday (September 25) honored the two sisters for being exemplary citizens. In a statement, the authority said the department deeply appreciates its energetic and compassionate role in helping those injured in the traffic accident.

Speaking to Emarat AlYoum, Maitha shared that she and her sister were returning from Ras Al Khaimah airport when they saw a vehicle meet with an accident after one of its tires exploded, injuring five people from an Asian family.

He added that they found a woman in her fifties who had fallen to the ground with her clothes torn and multiple injuries. Maitha did her best to support the woman, stabilizing her head and neck with a prayer mat and comforting her, assuring her that her family members were also fine.

She and her sister Amna provided first aid to the injured until national ambulances and police patrols arrived and took them all to the hospital.

Colonel Al-Naqbi, while praising the Traffic and Licensing Services Centre, underlines the Ras Al Khaimah Police’s commitment to recognizing and valuing the humanitarian efforts contributed by UAE citizens and residents. Such efforts reinforce traffic safety and promote the principles of community responsibility and human solidarity.

He said: “We highly value the positive citizenship and safety consciousness shown by Amna and Maitha Muftah Muhammad in providing comprehensive support to those affected by road accidents, thereby maintaining safety within our community. We extend our best wishes to them for their continued success. in serving our nation.”

In response, the sister expressed her sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Ras Khaimah Police. They stated that her actions were guided by her social and national duty.
