Dubai Municipality adds ‘Wosool’ seal to building completion certificates

Dubai Municipality has announced a special ‘Wosool’ stamp for building permits and construction completion certificates in the Emirates of Dubai, confirming that buildings meet the standards for persons of determination as a key requirement for approving permits.

This move comes in accordance with Dubai Building Code regarding the new construction plans, which aims to standardize building designs across the emirate.

His Excellency Dawoud Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality, saying:

“Adding the Wosool seal to building permits and construction completion certificates ensures it is friendly and ideal for determined people. It comes in line with our constant efforts to improve our services and capabilities to integrate purposeful people into society at the highest levels. Furthermore, it highlights the importance and value of constructing buildings in Dubai that are suitable for determined people and that meet their needs while providing the levels of services necessary to ensure their well-being and happiness.

The introduction of the seal reflects the directives of wise leadership that aims to make the Emirate of Dubai a perfectly accessible city for determined people, elevating its attractiveness and the quality of life it can offer, further consolidating its position as one of the best cities of the world to live, work and promote equality for all members of society.”

Eng. Mariam Al Muhairi, Executive Director of the Building Permits and Regulation Agency of Dubai Municipality, saying:

“Dubai Municipality has collaborated with various consulting and engineering offices in Dubai to ensure that new buildings meet all standards for determined individuals before issuing construction permits following the Dubai Building Code. As a prerequisite for approval, the Wosool seal will be added to the building completion certificate to certify that the buildings are suitable for people of determination. “This new procedure is part of the facilities and services offered by Dubai Municipality that allow determined people to participate and integrate positively and effectively into society.”

A series of regular field visits are organized Dubai Municipality examine and supervise construction works. Additionally, it further examines architectural designs to ensure that it includes special provisions for persons of determination as described in the approved plans for all residential, commercial, market, public, service buildings, parks and other things. Additionally, the Municipality conducts the final audit to confirm compliance with these conditions before issuing certificates of completion and approving the occupancy of the building.

Conditions for people of determination-friendly buildings include doors designed for easy access, adequate ramps for entrances and exits, health facilities and dedicated rooms for people of determination, as well as providing designated parking spaces and locations, along with other facilities to ensure seamless access to buildings.
