The United Arab Emirates on Friday launched a humanitarian campaign seeking to provide aid to Palestinians caught in the midst of the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.
The campaign, called ‘Compassion for Gaza’, will establish centers to collect and mobilize aid packages, involving charitable institutions, volunteer centres, the private sector, all other communities in the country and the media.
The campaign also seeks to show solidarity with Palestinian children and families in Gaza. Through this campaign of compassion, the United Arab Emirates hopes to alleviate the suffering of the most vulnerable groups, particularly the more than one million children who make up almost half of the population of the Gaza Strip.
They and their mothers will be provided with basic needs, in addition to sanitary supplies and general hygiene materials.
The campaign will begin next Sunday in Abu Dhabi, under the supervision of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority. It will be held at the Abu Dhabi Ports Hall in Mina Zayed, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Mobilization and collection points will soon be established in the rest of the Emirates.
The launch of this campaign comes in cooperation with the World Food Program and in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Community Development, as part of the humanitarian efforts undertaken by the United Arab Emirates to provide urgent assistance to the Palestinian people. .
