An AI-powered platform, developed by Emirati experts, will bolster the speed and accuracy of the audit process in the UAE.
Experts from the Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority collaborated with Presight.ai, a G42 company, to create Al Mersad.
Al Mersad leverages artificial intelligence and big data analytics to revolutionize the audit industry, strengthen governance and ensure the security of public assets.
Mahmoud Al Alawi, executive director of the corporate support sector at the Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority, noted that the innovative platform is the result of the dedicated efforts of the authority’s Emirati team.

The integrated data system audit platform is designed to use its precise anomaly detection capabilities and risk assessment mechanism based on complex data pattern recognition to intelligently optimize typically tedious and data-intensive tasks, like audits.
Through meticulous research and rigorous testing, Al Mersad aims to raise the standard of auditing in the emirate, safeguard public funds and ensure their judicious use and preservation for future generations.

Wael Abdulqader Mahmoud, acting director general of monitoring and auditing at the authority, said: “With the introduction of the Al Mersad platform, we aimed to simplify the identification of financial anomalies and offer an advanced government analysis tool.”
The system leverages artificial intelligence complemented by expert insights, greatly improving the speed and accuracy of the audit process.

“This platform provides our auditors with easy access to the financial data of all relevant entities. Furthermore, it underlines its commitment to strengthening transparency, reinforcing trust in government activities and safeguarding public finances,” Mahmoud stressed.
Al Mersad is among the two innovative platforms presented by the authority at Gitex Global 2023.

The other innovative solution is ADAAI, an internal platform comprising a secure dashboard that enables senior management and authority executives to make proactive decisions based on accurate data that is updated regularly.
The ADAAI dashboard automates business processes by providing accurate information on project completion rates and operational processes that are updated in real time. This allows officials to link strategies and courses of action with operational plans to ensure that the authority’s objectives are achieved in record time.
