In this year’s edition of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (running from October 28 to November 26), Ghani Souleymane, a well-known face in Dubai’s fitness industry and an Adidas ambassador, will push the limits of what athletes can do. elite can do by completing a full Ironman challenge. every day for 30 days.

Speaking to Khaleej Times, the Togolese national said: “Starting October 28 at 5 a.m. at Kite Beach, I will swim 3.8 kilometers, cycle 180 kilometers and then run a 42-kilometer marathon every day for 30 days”.

Heroes of hope

The extraordinary challenge is not just one of personal achievements for Ghani. She said she is doing it to raise funds for the Heroes of Hope charity through the Al Jalila Foundation.

The charity helps children facing challenges in life and Ghani wants to show that everyone can be part of the community, no matter what. “These children are angels and part of our society,”

“To face the challenge you need to have explosive power, muscular endurance, strength, coordination and balance, which requires excellent cardiovascular fitness,” Ghani said.

“It’s not just about the muscles; it’s also about being mentally strong,” she added.

For Ghani, the hardest part will be the lack of sleep. “I sleep only 4 to 5 hours on my usual days and these 30 days I will sleep less than that,” Ghani said, adding that her body will work more than 16 hours a day.

You will start your day at 5am, swimming in the sea for 4-5 hours, then cycling for 8-10 hours and running for 4-5 hours within Dubai.

You will have a lunch break between cycling and running, where you will even rest for a while. “I will eat protein-rich foods,” Ghani said.

‘Come and join me’

Ghani said: “This year I will take up the challenge in the neighborhoods of Dubai and all members of the community are welcome to join.”

It is not the first time he has raised funds, Ghani has been doing this Ironman challenge for four years. He has also completed ultramarathons from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain and many more cities in the country.

Ghani has a team of doctors watching him. “You know, safety must be prioritized. And when things get tough, they are just a call away,” Ghani said.

The athlete wants everyone to come and be part of this incredible challenge. He has a simple message: “Take some time to take care of your body, even if it’s just 30 minutes a day, and see how it can change your life.”
