Top education leaders will speak at the three-day Times Higher Education Mena Universities Summit in Abu Dhabi ahead of COP28.
With the theme “Innovation in times of change”, New York University Abu Dhabi will host the event in partnership with Times Higher Education from November 13 to 15.
“The theme is aligned with our mission to educate and empower young people, conduct research to help address the world’s challenges, and drive innovation that improves our societies and environment,” said NYUAD Vice-Chancellor Mariet Westermann. during a roundtable with the media.

Speakers at the event include Zaki Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to the President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University; Ahmed Dallal, president of the American University in Cairo; Professor Dame Heather McGregor, Chancellor of Heriot-Watt University Dubai; Toyin Tofade, president of the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences; and Eric Xing, President of the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, and many more regional educational leaders.
Nick Davis, president of the Middle East and Africa at Times Higher Education, hopes to bring the summit to the United Arab Emirates for the first time since 2016.
