The United Arab Emirates is a key market for French companies and a gateway to regional markets

Axel Baroux, French commissioner for commercial investments in the United Arab Emirates and regional director of Business France in the Middle Eaststated that more than 600 French companies operate in the United Arab Emirates, a key market for French companies due to its strategic location as a hub and gateway to the entire region.

Speaking in the Gulfood Manufacturing At the exhibition held in Dubai, Baroux highlighted the strong trade and investment ties between the United Arab Emirates and France. She noted that French exports to the UAE exceed €4.8 billion, while UAE imports from France exceed €2.5 billion.

He noted that French exports to the UAE cover a wide range of sectors, including food, food processing equipment and transportation equipment, with the pharmaceutical, healthcare and cosmetics industries leading the way. At the exhibition, France is represented by 48 companies, 20 of which are specialized in food processing and 28 in agricultural and food logistics equipment and services.

He noted that French exhibitors are seeking to establish new partnerships, sign agreements and enhance cooperation with specialized entities in the field of food and agricultural equipment industries in the Middle East region.

He also noted that in a few months they will have a strong participation in the GulFood exhibition, with nearly 100 French companies coming to Dubai to show their innovations and explore opportunities.

According to French participants in the exhibition, France is seeking to adapt to food safety requirements in the UAE and is the fifth largest European supplier of food ingredients to the UAE.
