UAE and Romania expand bilateral cooperation in government modernization

As part of the official visit of the Exchange of government experiences Delegation to the Republic of Romania, a series of meetings were held with the participation of various government officials to discuss ways to expand bilateral cooperation between the governments of the United Arab Emirates and Romania in the field of government modernization.

The two parties agreed on the new pillars of their partnership with the aim of exchanging knowledge, experience and successful experiences in the field of developing government work models.

During the visit, the Exchange of government experiences The team of the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs met with Laszlo Borbely, State Councilor and Coordinator of the Department of Sustainable Development of the Government of Romania, Nicolae Comănescu, State Councilor for Foreign Affairs of the Prime Minister’s Chancellery, and Bogdan Dumea, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digitalization, where they discussed expanding the strategic alliance and development areas to enhance it and take it to the next level.

The new pillars of cooperation include digitalization and digital transformation of services, artificial intelligence, space, innovation, sustainable development goals, economics and investment, capacity development and government accelerators.

Abdullah Nasser Lootah, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Knowledge Sharing, stated that the UAE government is willing to expand its cooperation efforts with the aim of improving government work with the government of friendly countries, which share the same vision with the UAE, that is, laying the foundation for future successful governments.

“Expanding the partnership between the UAE and the Government of Romania is a testament to the enthusiasm of both parties to promote constructive relations and benefit from the futuristic working models, experiences and success stories that the Government of the UAE has been able to develop”.

For its part, Laszlo Borbely highlighted that

“The visit of the UAE delegation and the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding mark a new milestone in the cooperation that the Government of Romania launched with the Government of the UAE last February, to develop efficient, responsible and transparent entities and promote capabilities institutional. Through this MoU, we will exchange best practices in many areas such as education for sustainable development, digital government, artificial intelligence, space exploration, incubators and more.”

“We were excited to learn about the UAE government accelerators, their performance management system, Services 1, unified digital platform, Million Coders initiative and how to foster a culture of innovation. The Department of Sustainable Development will play an active role in the coming period involving all relevant government entities in Romania to capitalize on this MoU, which has significant potential for the development of our country and the improvement of the government sector.”

The governments of the UAE and Romania announced the launch of a strategic partnership for government modernization, within the activities of the World Government Summit 2023, through an MoU signed by the UAE, Abdulla Nasser Lootah, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Knowledge Sharing. and Mircea Abrodiyan, Chancellor of the Prime Minister of Romania.

The cooperation between the two parties covers numerous fields, including the exchange of knowledge, experiences and best practices to develop the capabilities of digital government, digital economy, artificial intelligence, innovation, education, coding and incubators, capabilities management, upskilling government employees, developing services and delivering seamless customer experiences.
