UAE takes proactive approach to meet development march requirements

During 2022, GDP reached Dh1.62 trillion and the value of the country’s non-oil foreign trade increased to Dh2.2 trillion.

The UAE aims to increase the contribution of the digital economy to 20% of non-oil GDP, and this contribution has risen to 11.8% in 2021. It also aims to become one of the top 10 countries in the world in foreign attraction. direct investment (FDI), and has advanced in 2022 to rank 16th worldwide.

The UAE aims to be among the top 10 countries in the world in attracting and empowering international talent and eventually advanced in this field to rank 22nd globally.

In the tourism sector, the country aims to attract 40 million tourists annually by 2031; In 2022 it managed to attract 25.1 million tourists. It also aspires to be among the top 10 countries in the world in the Human development Index, and in 2022 it advanced to 26th place worldwide. In the sports and active lifestyle sector, the UAE aims to achieve a state where 75% of the population adopts an active lifestyle at a rate of 150 minutes of physical activity per week, of which 58% will have been achieved by 2023.

Furthermore, the country aspires to be among the top 20 countries in the world in the Environmental performance index (EPI), reached 39th place in 2022. In the energy sector, the UAE aims for clean energy production in the country to constitute 30% of total energy, and by 2022 it will have constituted 15.7%.

Regarding government performance and digital competitiveness, “We the UAE 2031” has drawn up a set of ambitious plans and figures for the year 2031. The UAE aims to be ranked among the top five countries in the world in the Smart Government Index , and in 2022 it has advanced to 13th place worldwide.

The United Arab Emirates aspire to first place in the world in the Government trust index, and surprisingly, in 2023 it managed to reach second place. The country aspires to be among the top 3 countries in the world in the Logistics Performance Index and currently ranks seventh.

The UAE Government Annual Meetings 2023 witnessed several sessions and discussions across vital sectors, during which ministers and senior government officials reviewed plans, initiatives and projects that have a direct impact on the future of development in the UAE.

During a session titled “Heroes in the Field,” Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, hosted 3 front-line public servants; discussing your thoughts, suggestions and challenges that may arise.

The UAE government provides approximately 1,400 government services, all of which focus on providing sophisticated and effective services.
During the meetings, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technologyreviewed the latest updates and efforts related to COP28 preparations.

Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Futurediscussed mechanisms to promote government digital integration in the UAE.

As part of the agenda, Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratization discussed a policy proposal to ensure the sustainability of Emiratisation, and new strategies and plans aimed at ensuring the continuity and sustainability of employment in the private sector.
In a session on Artificial Intelligence, HOmar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, highlighted the UAE’s interest in exploring new opportunities related to advanced technologies, artificial intelligence and big data in different government sectors. .

During a session on the UAE government’s commitments to carbon neutrality, Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, discussed the UAE’s strategy on climate change, which is in line with the UAE’s goals of achieving climate neutrality.

Dr. Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Advisor to the President of the UAE, He said the UAE leaders are interested in sustaining the growth, prosperity and stability of the UAE. During his participation in the UAE Government Annual Meetings 2023, His Excellency reviewed the geopolitical scenario and its impact at the regional and global level.
