Abu Dhabi Finance Week will host 10,000 financial leaders from more than 100 countries

The four-day ADFW series, which will run from November 27 to 30, 2023, will host 36 events and 180 different sessions, featuring the heads of hundreds of investment funds with assets under management of more than US$1 billion, representing cumulative assets under management of $27 trillion (a whopping 22 percent of global GDP) and dozens of the world’s highest net worth individuals.
Commenting on the diversity of ADFW’s agenda and its holistic approach, Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of ADDED and ADGM, said: “The second edition of Abu Dhabi Finance Week has evolved into a much more sophisticated platform within just one year of its launch and is attracting the attention of a significant international audience. This year’s phenomenal agenda brings together critical issues and high-level individuals representing a variety of perspectives from various industries , which contribute directly or indirectly to addressing challenges and taking advantage of opportunities. “Within an era of transition. “We are excited to host this extraordinary edition of ADFW in a few weeks and bring this innovative platform to the financial industry.”
The official opening ceremony on November 27 will begin with the participation of the heads of the world’s leading financial and investment companies. The same day will continue with the inaugural Abu Dhabi Economic Forum, an invitation-only, high-level leadership forum that will reveal key facets of Abu Dhabi’s stable and growing economy. You will hear perspectives on the growing Falcon economy, offered by the heads of Abu Dhabi’s major sovereign wealth funds (SWFs) and several key UAE ministers, along with heads of global financial institutions who will express their views on why they have chosen Abu Dhabi as a base for its commercial operations.
The second day begins the Asset Abu Dhabi conference, which will analyze the evolution of the investment strategies of hedge funds, private equity houses and venture capital giants in global markets. The conference will also simultaneously host two other forums focused on international family office investment strategies and Turnaround & Restructuring. Key sessions at Asset Abu Dhabi include “The 10 Rules of Successful Nations” by Rockefeller International Chairman Ruchir Sharma, a unique conversation on “The Keys to Managing Money and Risk” between former UK Chancellor , George Osborne, and hedge fund manager Alan Howard. and a special roundtable focusing on “Forecast to 2030” with Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing President Laura Cha and senior executives from Goldman Sachs, Circle and Tikehau Capital.
The series continues on November 29 with the theme day on the intersection of finance and technology: Fintech Abu Dhabi. The seventh edition of MENA’s largest Fintech Festival includes specialized forums on AI, Blockchain and Risk and Security. Featured sessions on this theme day will include discussions on the economics of financial crime and will also bring together Abu Dhabi’s key AI institutions to discuss ‘Why Abu Dhabi was talking about AI before it was cool’. He will convene the heads of key institutions to ask if “Crypto has finally reached a time for growth,” and Professor Alexander Lipton, ADIA Global Head of Quantitative R&D, will present his thoughts on “How Social Media is Reshaping the manual of global banking”. Circle CEO and founder Jeremy Allaire also has a dedicated session that day to discuss strategies to turn digital assets into useful tools for global financial stability.
The final day of ADFW is dedicated to the topic of sustainable finance and will coincide with the opening sessions of COP28. The RACE (Regulation, Awareness, Collaboration and Ecosystems) Sustainability Summit will ask the critical question: “will climate finance represent the largest reallocation of capital in human history?” and will seek to identify available ways to close the $11 trillion capital gap needed to achieve net zero emissions goals. It will also livestream the COP28 opening ceremony for attendees.
The Global Financial Regulators Summit, a key closed meeting of 15 leading global financial regulators, taking place on November 29 in conjunction with Fintech Abu Dhabi, will present its results the following day, during RACE.
