Abu Dhabi: In an extension of the humanitarian efforts of the “Tarahum for Gaza” campaign, the United Arab Emirates today sent a plane carrying 100 tons of food, medical and relief supplies to the city of El Arish in the Arab Republic of Egypt , in preparation for entering the Gaza Strip through the Rafah border crossing, in coordination with the United Nations World Food Program.
The outreach is part of the UAE’s ongoing humanitarian efforts that aim to provide food, medicine, health supplies and essential sanitary products to those affected in the Gaza Strip, particularly women, children and the elderly.
Sultan Al Shamsi, Deputy Minister of Development and International Organization Affairs, said: “The dispatch of the plane carrying humanitarian aid is part of the UAE’s efforts to alleviate the current humanitarian conditions in Gaza and support the country’s unwavering efforts. since the beginning of the crisis to deliver urgent food and medical supplies to the affected population in Gaza.”
Al Shamsi added that the “Tarahum for Gaza” campaign, which was launched last month with significant participation from all segments of society, humanitarian organizations and volunteers, reinforces the UAE’s efforts to provide aid to the Palestinians, reflecting the country’s deeply rooted values of generosity and human solidarity.
