UAE announces $100 million contribution to climate impact response fund

The United Arab Emirates today announced its commitment to contribute $100 million to the Climate Impact Response Fund, following an agreement to operationalize the fund during the United Nations Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (COP28).

On the occasion, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairssaying,

“We congratulate all parties on the historic adoption of this climate impact response fund and announce the UAE’s commitment of $100 million as our contribution.”

“We call on all countries that are in a position to do so to contribute generously, as an important symbol of solidarity.”

he added.
