Route 71: Vintage car collectors rally held in Sharjah to mark UAE Union Day

Participants in the Route 71 demonstration walked through the desert and mountainous areas of the emirate, passing iconic sites such as the Monument to the Resistance in Khor Fakkan, the Mleiha Archaeological Centre, the Badayer Oasis and others.
More than 44 vintage cars spanning various eras (some dating back to 1929, such as the 1929 Bugatti) participated in Route 71, whose objective was to foster national unity among participants, create an interactive environment that combined the passion for vintage cars and celebrate the United Arab Emirates. National identity.
Ali Mohamed Saab, a vintage car enthusiast, said the rally created a fitting atmosphere for a momentous occasion, giving participants the opportunity to learn about the history and culture of the emirate.
Saab was impressed by the Mleiha Archaeological Centre, one of the most important archaeological sites in the emirate, housing a collection of rare and distinctive artefacts.
Mohamed Fawzi, a Kuwaiti vintage car enthusiast and social media influencer, expressed his happiness at joining the trip in his 1989 Mercedes. He said: “It is a beautiful and unconventional way to celebrate this occasion, bringing participants together to commemorating the UAE Union Day and providing the opportunity to exchange unique experiences and stories about vintage cars.”
