Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi elected chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council

Present at the session were Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Executive Council, as well as several dignitaries, including sheikhs, ministers, undersecretaries, members of the Executive Council, municipal councils, chiefs and local department heads and prominent figures.

This development follows the recent elections for the third session of the Consultative Council in Sharjah, which saw an impressive voter turnout of 87 per cent. A total of 45,167 men and women cast their votes, out of an electorate of 51,637, to elect 25 councillors.

To further solidify the structure of the council, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi issued an Emir Decree for the formation of the Consultative Council for its eleventh term. The newly formed Council is made up of 50 members.
