Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives in Dubai provides Dh43 million in food aid for Gaza

It also brings the total financial support provided by the MBRGI to the WFP to Dh230 million since the start of the collaboration between the two parties in 2021.
The announcement came as MBRGI signed an agreement with WFP in the presence of WFP Executive Director Cindy McCain on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland.
Under the agreement, MBRGI will provide its contribution to the WFP, for direct food aid that will benefit more than 1 million people in Gaza.
MBRGI also signed another agreement with the WFP to implement sustainable food projects and deliver food aid to a large segment of the needy. Both agreements were signed by Mohammad Al Gergawi, Secretary General of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives and Cindy McCain, Executive Director of the WFP.
The MBRGI delegation, led by Mohammad Al Gergawi, held a meeting on the sidelines of the WEF with the World Food Program delegation, led by WFP Executive Director Cindy McCain, where they discussed prospects for cooperation to meet joint goals of helping disadvantaged populations worldwide and implement sustainable food projects in several countries.
During the meeting, Al Gergawi addressed some of the humanitarian initiatives led by the United Arab Emirates in the Gaza Strip, aimed at helping Palestinians amid the difficult conditions they are experiencing due to current events. The two sides also discussed expanding their partnership to provide direct food support to broader segments of beneficiaries in Gaza.
Al Gergawi said: “Following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the MBRGI continues to provide food support to Palestinians in Gaza amid the dire conditions. humanitarian issues they face due to recent events.”
He added: “MBRGI’s recent contribution is part of the UAE’s ongoing efforts to support the Palestinians and help those affected in Gaza. “The agreement with WFP will help expand the reach of WFP’s direct food support to reach one million people in Gaza.”
Samer Abdeljaber, WFP Representative in Palestine and Country Director, said: “This generous contribution comes at a crucial time to help address the rapidly growing nutritional needs of affected Palestinians. It will strengthen WFP’s efforts to provide vital food assistance to civilians facing critical levels of food insecurity in the Gaza Strip. “It also marks an extension of the long-standing collaboration between MBRGI and WFP.”
