Watch: Sheikh Hamdan meets Dubai senior officials, praises government work progress

Dubai: CEOs and senior officials of Dubai government departments have been ordered to continue providing high-quality services that meet international standards.
Encouragement came from Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, who met them on Tuesday at his Majlis in Za’abeel.
The meeting was part of Sheikh Hamdan’s routine engagements with officials from various sectors to stay informed on their latest progress in achieving Dubai’s strategic objectives.
Sheikh Hamdan said Dubai’s journey into the future has been shaped by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai. “Today, Dubai is steadily moving towards achieving leading positions in various indicators of global competitiveness and establishing international leadership in important sectors. This reflects the priority that Dubai places on the happiness, security and stability of its people,” he said.
Sheikh Hamdan praised the progress made in the field of government work and emphasized that success and excellence provide more incentives to strive for improvement. Dubai constantly seeks to improve the quality of its services and ensure that they meet the aspirations of society, he said.
Sheikh Hamdan added that the emirate’s system of governance aims to deliver the greatest efficiency, speed and quality in service delivery. “Dubai Economic Agenda D33, Dubai Social Agenda 33 and Dubai Urban Master Plan 2040 are strategies designed to ensure the best quality of life for citizens and residents.”
His Highness emphasized that any contribution that ensures the well-being and happiness of the community deserves recognition and recognition.
The Crown Prince of Dubai also highlighted the crucial role that local human capital plays in driving development in Dubai and the United Arab Emirates.
During the meeting, which was attended by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports and Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airline and Group; and Sheikh Hasher bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Media Incorporated, Sheikh Hamdan urged the new CEOs of various government entities to foster the skills of Emirati talent, ensuring that they stay abreast of rapid developments.
Work well-being
During the meeting, Sheikh Hamdan also reviewed the achievements of the Dubai Standing Committee on Labor Affairs during the last period. He highlighted that the government is committed to setting the highest global standards for workplace welfare.
Subsequently, Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Chairman of the Dubai Standing Committee on Labor Affairs, briefed him on the initiatives and programs implemented by the Committee to address the needs of workers. In 2023, the Committee organized 6,300 awareness sessions for delivery drivers in Dubai, focusing on the importance of complying with traffic laws.
In addition, the Committee organized 86 events to involve 154,000 workers in various sports, social and recreational activities. This reflects the Committee’s commitment to preserving the well-being of workers.
Major General Bin Surour said the Committee carried out 33 inspection campaigns to monitor living standards in worker accommodation facilities in collaboration with relevant authorities. The Committee also distributed 87,000 meals in Dubai labor camps.
The Chairman of the Committee also spoke about the Taqdeer Award, launched in 2016 under the patronage of the Crown Prince of Dubai to recognize companies and individuals that provide the best care and work environment to their workers. He said the number of companies participating in the Award, which is preparing to launch its sixth edition in November, has seen significant growth, rising from 236 companies in its inaugural edition to more than 3,000 in its latest edition.
Sheikh Hamdan also met the winners of the Government of Dubai Customer Happiness Index 2023 and congratulated them for their excellence and directed them to continue providing high-quality services that meet international standards. He expressed his appreciation for her efforts to ensure the happiness and well-being of employees.
