Vietnam will join the global trend of tourism recovery this year

The global tourism market will fully recover from the COVID-19 pandemic in 2024, and Vietnam will not stand out from this trend, state news agency (VNA) quoted “insiders” as saying.

According to the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO)the first UNWTO World Tourism Barometer of the year showed an estimate of 1.3 billion international travelers in 2023, representing 88% of pre-pandemic levels.

It also reported that international tourism revenues reached $1.4 trillion in 2023, equivalent to 93% of the 2019 figure of $1.5 trillion.

“The latest UNWTO data underlines the resilience and rapid recovery of tourism, with pre-pandemic figures expected by the end of 2024.”

saying UNWTO Secretary General Zurab Pololikashvili.

“The recovery is already having a significant impact on economies, jobs, growth and opportunities for communities around the world.”

He noticed.

As for Vietnam, the country received 12.6 million international arrivals last year, reaching 70% of the pre-pandemic level of 2019.
