Watch: Sheikh Hamdan attends Dubai Police Academy graduation ceremony

Dubai: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, Attended the graduation ceremony of the latest batch of cadets at the Dubai Police Academy today, with the 31st batch of male cadets and the fourth batch of female cadets achieving great success.

The ceremony was also attended by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports and Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airline and Group; Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council; and Sheikh Al Murr bin Maktoum Al Maktoum. The ceremony began to the sound of the UAE national anthem, followed by a captivating recital of verses from the Holy Quran.

In his speech, Dr. Brigadier Sultan Al Jamal, Director of the Dubai Police Academy, warmly welcomed the esteemed guests and attendees, highlighting the Academy’s role as a prestigious institution that prepares highly qualified security personnel. “These individuals are equipped with comprehensive knowledge, skills and experience to discharge their crucial responsibilities of preserving security, upholding public order and safeguarding the nation and its achievements,” he added.

Brig. Al Jamal underlined the Dubai Police Academy’s long-standing commitment to fostering excellence since its inception in 1987. “The Academy has consistently nurtured a succession of graduates who have benefited from various educational and training experiences facilitated by an elite group of experts in the fields of law enforcement and policing. “This commitment arises from the Academy’s belief in its constructive role in disseminating knowledge and experience, both locally and internationally,” he stated.

“As evidence of this, the Academy has regularly reserved annual places for students from sister and friendly countries, many of whom now hold esteemed leadership positions in their countries. These graduates have become exemplary ambassadors of the UAE, reflecting the unique human and cultural values ​​they encountered during their stay here,” Brig. added Al Jamal.

“Emirati society places great trust in the Academy’s graduates, valuing their knowledge, experience, discipline, commitment, competence, patience, resilience, sacrifice, sense of responsibility and ability to work under pressure in all situations. This is evident as government, semi-government and private entities, both within and outside the country, actively seek and recruit elite graduates of the Academy to assume various leadership positions,” said Brig. Al Jamal said.

During his speech, Brig. Al Jamal noted that the Dubai Police Academy recently achieved a prestigious five-star rating from the QS World University Rankings. “Today, the Academy proudly celebrates the graduation of 105 cadets, including 75 male cadets of the 31st batch and 30 female cadets of the fourth batch. These cadets now join their fellow officers in the field of security, which plays a vital role in maintaining the UAE’s esteemed reputation. The UAE consistently ranks among the top countries in global security indicators, securing the second position in the ‘World’s Safest Countries’ index for the third consecutive year, as reported by Global Finance in 2023,” he noted.

In a performance before Sheikh Hamdan, the cadets formed up to enact the phrase “Dubai’s Strong Resolve”, reflecting their deep mastery of military training and skills acquired during their time at the Academy, while highlighting their exceptional discipline and physical condition.

Later, Sheikh Hamdan, together with Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Police Academy, honored the high achievers and presented them with medals of excellence, congratulating them for his outstanding work. contributions. His Highness wished the cadets continued success in their professional endeavors.

Sheikh Hamdan also witnessed a presentation detailing Dubai Police’s notable achievements in improving security in the emirate and the force’s efforts to prevent crime. He reviewed the results of the ‘Naseej’ initiative, one of the main initiatives of the Dubai Police aimed at proactively addressing negative behaviors among students by utilizing scientific programs and methodologies to achieve positive transformation of those with behavioral negative and reintegrate them into the social fabric in an innovative and fruitful way. The initiative significantly promotes community safety, particularly within the educational community.

The Naseej initiative was launched by Dubai Police in response to negative behaviors seen among teenagers on social media platforms, among other negative trends that go against social values. The police presented the initiative with the aim of transforming these negative behaviors into positive ones.

Apart from launching the Academy’s new website, HH also explored its smart services, digital courses, digital advisor, 12 proactive services and 16 academic programs. His Holiness was briefed on the Academy’s achievements by Dr. Col. Mansour Al Balushi, Deputy Director of the Dubai Police Academy.

Sheikh Hamdan was also informed about the QS World University Rankings, in which the Academy obtained a 5-star rating, becoming the first police academy in the world to receive such a distinguished accolade.

Additionally, Sheikh Hamdan was briefed on the first edition of the specialized diploma program ‘Police Innovation and Leadership’ (PIL) launched by Dubai Police for police officers in leadership positions around the world. The program seeks to attract police leadership officers from various countries, equipping them to meet future security challenges and reinforce Dubai’s status as a cutting-edge global city in terms of police leadership in security, innovation and quality of life. The diploma program focuses on three key aspects: the academic program, specialized training and the quality of life program. It has attracted 46 participants from 31 countries.

During the event, Sheikh Hamdan also interacted with officers and graduates who, through scholarships, acquired advanced academic qualifications in disciplines contributing to the security and technology sectors. She emphasized that the graduates, both men and women, are a source of pride for the nation, and the country places great confidence in the capabilities of young talents in various police and security fields.

The ceremony concluded with commemorative photographs taken with Sheikh Hamdan and the Academy’s faculty members, graduates, coaches and officials.

On the occasion, Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri extended his sincere congratulations to the President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai.
