The celebration, themed “Hanging Out Together,” created meaningful connections between Korean residents and various nationalities.
“This collaborative effort with Korean language students at King Sejong Institute serves as a testament to the Korean Cultural Center’s commitment to fostering cultural exchange.”
Offering a unique experience, students who learned the Korean language at Sejong Institute were the hosts as they welcomed guests.
“This interactive setup was able to facilitate an authentic exchange of cultural traditions.”
Various competitions were held with traditional Korean games and other activities included the Korean shuttlecock game ‘Jegichagi’, the Korean board game ‘Yut Nori’ and the arrow or stick throwing game called ‘Tuho’.
Participants savored traditional Korean foods, especially those consumed during the special day, such as Tteokguk, a sliced rice cake soup prepared by the center.
Later, ‘I Am the King’ was released, a traditional comedy film that explores the intriguing narrative of what happens when a slave accidentally becomes a king and vice versa.
“Overall it was an enjoyable, entertaining and delightful experience for everyone. We hope to host more programs, which are open to community members. They must register through our website,” Ewha stressed.
