GAS launches ‘Talents’ project to foster young sporting prodigies in the UAE

The General Authority of Sports (GAS) launched a project titled “Talents”, which aims to discover and nurture promising sports talents in the UAE.

The project also aims to improve the UAE’s sporting competitiveness and inspire young people to embrace sport as a way of life, in line with the UAE’s Vision 2031, by identifying and supporting 1,500 young sporting talents under the age of 14 .

The project will aim to motivate them to play sports regularly, foster a competitive spirit among them and showcase their talents, as well as enable them to adopt a healthy lifestyle, create a database of sports talents and expand the country’s talent pool every year. . year.

Ghanem Al Hajri, CEO of GASHe said the project aims to encourage young talents to join competitive sports early, improve their skills and performance, and foster their health and sportsmanship.

The authority and its partners from relevant sporting entities will support these talents to develop their skills and ensure their professional growth, he added, expressing hope that it will become a launching pad to achieve international and Olympic success and enhance the reputation and status of the Emirates. sports at regional and global levels, under the vision of the UAE leadership.

Sheikh Suhail Al Maktoum, Executive Director of GAS Sports Development SectorHe said the project cooperates with nine sports federations and bodies to organize various competitions, championships and festivals that use new methods to discover and develop sports talents in nine different sports.

The project has already hosted three events of the 18 planned events and festivals, which are the “First Talent Discovery Festival for Athletics Buds”, the “Future Falcons Golf Talent Discovery Festival” and the “Talent Discovery Festival of Abu Dhabi Badminton Talent Discovery Club”. .
