UAE: Sheikh Mohammed to crown Arab Hope Maker on Sunday – News

The time has come. The fourth Arab Hope Maker will be crowned in a prestigious ceremony at the Coca-Cola Arena on Sunday.
According to the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), more than 58,000 nominations were received from across the region for the fourth edition of the largest initiative of its kind in the Arab region celebrating philanthropists.
The winner of the Arab Hope Makers Award will receive a cash prize of Dh1 million from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai.

The event, which will be attended by more than 12,000 people, will be attended by prominent humanitarian and cultural personalities from the Arab world.
Artists Hussein Al Jasmi, Ahlam and Asala will bring down the curtain on the closing ceremony with live performances. Kuwaiti singer Hammoud Al-Khader will also participate in the event.
Sheikh Mohammed had posted on X earlier this month where he said: “Creating hope is the highest expression of humanity and noble values. Quietly planting the seeds of good is the essence of the true civilization that humanity seeks.
“Tens of thousands of inspiring Arabs who joined the fourth edition of Hope Makers will illuminate new paths that will lead to the rise of the Arab world and a better tomorrow. On February 25, we honor those whose dedication to the betterment of their communities is a way of life and who made it their mission to help those in need.”
PAST WINNERS
2017
Nawal Al Soufi of Morocco, who helped save the lives of more than 200,000 refugees, was named the Arab Hope Maker.
2018
Mahmoud Wahid of Egypt was named an Arab Hope Maker in 2018, for sheltering homeless seniors on the streets of Cairo.
2020
Emirati Ahmed Al Falasi, who established advanced kidney dialysis centers and incubators in Mombasa, Kenya.
