Dubai: Did you fail the RTA final practical test? How to file an appeal in 5 minutes – News
[ad_1]
Failing the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) final driving test can be discouraging, especially if you’ve taken it for the seventh (or eleventh) time.
The RTA, in fact, recognizes the frustration with an SMS that a student receives after the exam: “Failing the practical exam does not mean the end of the world. Rather it means trying again with more experience.”
Anyone who takes driving lessons in the emirate will be familiar with the high standards and strict regulations. Passing the lessons and passing the exams takes a lot of work (and a little luck), to the point that finally getting your license becomes a cause for celebration.

Typically, after a failed attempt, the student would have to return to the driving school and book additional lessons in order to take the test again. But did you know that you can file an appeal?
If you believe the examiner was unfair, you can challenge the result and request an appeal in an online process that takes about five minutes.
That is how:
- Go to ums.rta.ae and log in with your Emirates ID.
- Click on the “Services” tab and choose “services for drivers and car owners.”
- From a list of services that will appear, select “Request an appeal for road test results.”
- You’ll get a quick overview of the service. Click the ‘Apply Now’ button and answer a couple of questions.
- Pay the fees (see below).
- The RTA will then conduct an investigation.
- Expect results within five business days.
Rates, terms and conditions
Those who request the appeal must pay the service fee 300 dirhams and €20Knowledge and Innovation Rate’.
However, please note that the student must request the service within two business days of the light vehicle road test appointment, according to the RTA.
After investigation, if the applicant’s comments are deemed valid, the test result will be changed and fees will be refunded.
