List of the most luxurious airports in the world

Dubai International Airport in the United Arab Emirates is number one, closely followed by Heathrow Airport in the United Kingdom and Hamad International Airport in Qatar.
Gone are the days of crowded spaces and boring snacks: according to a recent study, airports around the world are stepping up their game, offering luxurious retreats for luxury-seeking travelers.
In this study, travel health insurance specialists at AllClear evaluated 1,800 airports around the world, evaluating their “luxury score” to determine the most luxurious options available.
Criteria for selecting luxury airports:
The scoring system takes into account factors such as the number of salons, the availability of designer stores, the quality of food and beverage options and the presence of luxury hotels on site.
The findings show airports that offer experiences beyond the ordinary, including:
- Indoor gardens provide a serene environment amidst the busy airport environment.
- Luxurious pools for travelers to enjoy a relaxing swim before their flights.
- Michelin-starred restaurants that offer gourmet cuisine to satisfy the most demanding palates.
- Golf courses for travelers to enjoy a quick round of golf before leaving.
Leading the list
At the forefront of luxury airports is Dubai International Airport, which scored an outstanding 83 out of 100 in the ‘Luxury Score’. With more than 30 exclusive lounges, it offers a premium retreat for weary travelers.
It is closely followed by London Heathrow Airport, with 82 points, while Doha’s Hamad International Airport is close behind with 73 points.
Asian airports dominate ‘top 15’ group
The top 15 airports are mainly dominated by Asian destinations, offering a notable trend. Europe also stands out with five entries, with Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport in fifth place.
Meanwhile, North America is represented by a single entry, New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, famous for its luxury boutiques and celebrity encounters, which ranks 11th.
