UAE traffic alert: Abu Dhabi changes truck ban schedule during Ramadan – News

Abu Dhabi Police have announced a change in the timing of the ban on trucks and heavy vehicles on the emirate’s roads during Ramadan.

Police took to social media to announce the change in peak hour restriction hours for the holy month of Ramadan. The restriction applies to trucks and buses that transport more than 50 workers.


General Mahmoud Youssef Al Balushi, director of the Directorate of Traffic and Security Patrols of the Central Operations Sector, said heavy vehicles would not be allowed to operate on Abu Dhabi roads during the morning rush hours and pm.

The period of application of the ban will begin from 8 to 10 hours in the cities of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. The evening peak hours during the holy month of Ramadan are from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

He noted that traffic patrols will be deployed on all roads and traffic control will be intensified through intelligent systems.
