Mufti of Dubai calls for support from Mothers’ Endowment campaign

Dubai: Dr Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Haddad, Chief Mufti and Director of the Ifta Department at the Dubai Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities, called on community members to contribute to the Mothers’ Endowment campaign, launched by His Highness the Sheikh. Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to honor mothers by establishing a Dh1 billion endowment fund to support the education of millions of people around the world.

“His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum continues to launch great initiatives year after year, once again demonstrating his benevolent and generous nature as the positive impact of his initiatives spreads widely among communities,” said Dr Al -Haddad.

“The Mothers’ Endowment campaign will be a way to honor and show admiration for mothers, whose debt children cannot repay no matter what we do. Throughout our lives, mothers continue to care for us, love us and guide us,” said Dr. Al Haddad.

“These selfless acts on your part cannot be matched, but they can be at least partially rewarded. The greatest gift to a mother, besides honoring and caring for her, is a consistent charity that continues to give,” he added.

Dr. Al Haddad noted that contributing to the Mothers’ Endowment campaign, which supports education around the world and drives sustainable development, is a great gift to his mother, following the guidance of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). , who encouraged Muslims to make ongoing charities and establish endowments in honor of parents.

“His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid is reviving this blessed practice of honoring mothers, whether during their lifetime or after their passing. Good deeds are especially rewarding during the holy month of Ramadan, following the example of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who was the most generous among his people and is increasingly so during Ramadan.

“Contributing to the Mothers’ Endowment campaign is considered a general charity that can be donated for the benefit of all. It should not be paid as part of the mandatory Zakat, which goes to specific beneficiaries,” she concluded.
