Residents in parts of the UAE woke up to cloudy skies and heavy rain, in what looks like the start of rainy days after the meteorological department issued an alert for unsettled weather conditions across the UAE.

Motorists arriving at Al Khail Road in Dubai early in the morning faced heavy rain on their way to work.
The NCM issued an alert for light rain in Barsha and light to moderate rain over Expo in Dubai.

In a video you can see how the rains hit the Al Quoz area in Dubai at 6:45 in the morning.
Lightning also struck parts of the city, as seen in a video shared by Storm Center on X, where motorists encountered it near the Al Garhoud Bridge while driving in heavy rain.
Sharjah residents also started the weekend on a rainy note, as gray and cloudy skies enveloped the sky at a time when the sun normally rises. In videos recorded by KT journalist Muhammad Sajjad, rain can be seen in the emirate.
Despite the early hours of the day, few residents had already come out to witness the stunning views and cool temperatures that accompanied the rainy weather.

The NMC has been issuing alerts to residents in parts of Abu Dhabi since morning, where the unsettled weather appears to have hit first, and soon after spread to the rest of the country.
For those wondering if the rains could ruin their weekend plans, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy generally and cloudy at times in some coastal and western areas with chance of showers at intervals, according to the NCM forecast .
Light to moderate winds are expected to blow, cooling at times. The sea will be light to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and light in the Oman Sea.
Temperatures will drop to 15ºC in the interior areas of the country and will reach a maximum of 37ºC.
