ENOC Group maintains momentum to promote sustainable development efforts


Aligned with its global and local sustainable development goals, the ENOC Group once again showed its commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency by supporting “Earth Hour 2024: The most important hour for Earth.”

Joining millions of people in the UAE and around the world to encourage collective action towards climate change, ENOCH turned off non-essential lights at its headquarters and operational facilities on March 23 from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. All gas stations, convenience stores, quick oil changes, car wash areas and high voltage signs remained dark for an hour.

Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO, ENOCsaying:

“The ENOC Group is committed to promoting sustainable development initiatives to drive positive changes towards the preservation of our environment and the planet. “We are dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of optimizing energy consumption and will continue to encourage our staff, as well as the broader community, to minimize environmental impact and practice energy conservation.”

Highlighting the continued focus on best environmental, energy and resource management practices, at Earth Hour 2024, ENOCH It saved a total of 408 MWh of electricity, which is equivalent to 1,944 kg of CO2 emissions.

ENOCH E&RM initiatives from 2014 to 2023 have also led to a decrease in specific energy consumption by 23 percent (from 0.67 GJ/tonne to 0.516 GJ/tonne) and an increase in water recycling by 2 percent. percent to 24.86 percent, through initiatives such as waste heat. reclamation projects at the refinery, propane sphere projects at the MTBE facility, implementation of solar PV at gas stations, rooftop solar at sites and various energy and water optimization and conservation projects.
